Viva Vivaldi
Viva Vivaldi
VIVA VIVALDI. THE FOUR SEASONS IMMERSIVE CONCERT”, A PIONEERING EXPERIENCE THAT HAS REVOLUTIONIZED THE SYMPHONIC WORLD.
On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the publication of Antonio Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, the Fondazione Arena di Verona and Balich Wonder Studio presented the innovative performance Viva Vivaldi. The Four Seasons Immersive Concert at the Arena di Verona on August 28. The event was sold out, with over 10,000 attendees. It was a magical night, full of emotion, inspired by the grandeur of the Roman amphitheater and the powerful music of the Venetian composer. The show captivated audiences of all ages, leaving an indelible mark on all who attended, and it is already part of the 2025 program for the Arena di Verona.
Idea
Conceived by Marco Balich and co-produced by the Fondazione Arena di Verona, the show brought to the stage for the first time the magical fusion of a 29-piece orchestra, strictly faithful to Vivaldi’s original score, and the contemporary language of immersive technology applied to the codes of classical music. An extraordinary flow of high-tech three-dimensional imagery celebrated the wonders of nature, reflecting on the passage of time and the cycle of life, while paying homage to our Planet Earth.
Work
Once we received the iconography from the creative team and agreed on the technology with the video service provider, we began defining a visual code that would ensure high immersivity across all the show’s themes. Throughout the production, we developed content pre-visualizations for the creative team and test files for the technical service, ensuring that the visuals, once presented in the Arena, aligned with the original artistic vision.
The content consisted of a cohesive mix of video editing, compositing, and highly advanced 3D motion graphics, created using 3D software such as HOUDINI, BLENDER, and CINEMA 4D. This combination of technique and video design created a magical box that, by leveraging different planes in space, delivered an incredible sense of depth to the audience.
